To ensure we are providing a safe environment for our 4-H members to Learn To Do By Doing, volunteer screening is a mandatory process for all 4-H clubs across the country.
Each 4-H New Brunswick club must have two screened volunteers, who are not spouses, to be registered. If you have any questions, please contact the office!
New Brunswick 4-H is now using an online platform to house all NB 4-H registrations. If you wish to become a leader, please send us a message and we will help get you conencted with a club.
Once connected with a club, you will be able to register online and complete all documents through the online portal.
Leaders must be fully screened and approved by the Provincial Office before they are able to act as a leader/volunteer.
All 4-H leaders must complete the required online training modules. These can be accessed on 4-H LEARNS (www.4-h-learns.org). You will require an account.
Youth Safety Training was new in 2020-21. To roll in this requirement, each club was require at least two leaders to complete it. Now, all new and renewing volunteers will be required to complete it as it is mandatory to be register as a 4-H leader.
This course will be offered through Zoom by the executive director. All leaders that need to take this training will be contacted with a Zoom link invite.
Nationally, Commit to Kids has been implemented as mandatory training for all registered 4-H volunteers in Canada. This online training takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. To complete the training and receive your certificate you must complete the quizzes in the modules and achieve at least 80 per cent on the final Knowledge Validation Test.
